Senior Financial Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis – Growing Government Contractor – Virginia Beach – Pay to $130K depending on experience

A dynamic government contractor is seeking a SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST – FP&A to joins its corporate team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be the financial business partner for the C-suite and provide the tools to drive operational and financial performance in an open, collaborative, and growing company.

The Senior Financial Analyst will take responsibility for a wide range of financial and operational analysis and reporting including budgeting and forecasting, financial statement analysis, cash-flow analysis, M&A analysis and reporting, and ad-hoc analysis and reporting for the CFO, CEO, and COO. This role is responsible for providing senior executives with the analysis and information they need to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as the financial business partner for CFO, CEO, and COO
• Provide analysis, reports, and presentations for a variety of areas including financial statements, mergers & acquisitions, cash flow, and contract performance
• Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization for short and long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts
• Utilizes forecasts and variance data to advise management on decisions including how to improve performance, minimize risk, or capture new opportunities from both within the company and in the external environment
• Take charge of the forecasting process, conduct variance analysis to show executive leadership how the budgets and forecasts compare to actual performance
• Connect senior management's long-term strategic plan to reality and develop financial models to support strategic initiatives
• Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to drive business performance

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics with an MBA or equivalent Master’s degree preferred
• 3+ years of analytical experience with concentration in FP&A
• Government contracting industry experience a must
• M&A experience preferred
• Superior problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate collaborative and cooperative solution design
• Solid understanding of financial statements, and accounting and finance principles 
• Superior analytical skills and data-mining ability
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Organized, flexible, and easily adaptable to changing conditions
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet competing deadlines
• Expertise with Microsoft applications and financial reporting systems and tools including advanced Excel and experience with ERPs; with experience with NetSuite a plus
• Strong project management skills
• Ability and desire to take ownership of work product, with dedication and commitment to driving results
